Will be reviewing the new shows that I watch when they come out! Warning their will be episode and season spoilers ahead.

First show I’m going to review is The Following. Will write in more detail about it at a later date but basically I love this show. So addictive. Plot twists left, right and centre. Now this is the penultimate episode so expect it to be epic!

Right lets break this down and talk through the main two storylines. Ryan and Joe. Good vs Evil. We basically get straight into it. Ryan reveals they have the location of Joes crazy followers and they go to bust him. Of course Joe isn’t there. It would be a bit boring if he was right! Joe’s decided for a change of scenery. He’s taken the only two relevant followers with him (Jacob and Emma) and also his wife who he has informed isn’t in the rewrite of his book so she has to die. She has had a great month or so hasn’t she and lets be honest she has no one else but her self to blame that she is in this predicament. Ok maybe she could also blame Joe but lets ignore that.

So Joe’s on the run and decides he’s going to hold a nice random couple hostage and have dinner with them. He acts all calm and creepy with them while informing them and Claire of her impending death. Light little ice breaker so he can get to know them. i think it worked a treat. Ryan in the meantime is searching the mansion for clues and comes across a note from Joe saying the final chapter is beginning.

At a news interview outside of the police station a crazy and clearly obvious follower starts ranting about the red death and stabs the reporter. The reporter honestly deserves it as how she didn’t realize this woman was crazy before she stabbed her was beyond me. If she chats shit while your interviewing her about a crazy cult you run away screaming. Dedication to your job that is! So Ryan interrogates her and goes all Jack Bauer on her and she reveals to him that Joe is going to kill Claire so Ryan can be reborn. Queue some very familiar 24 music and a lot of dramatic posing.

Meanwhile back at the house Jacob is finally coming to his senses and wants to run away. But Emma convinces him not to. Jacob was crazy for like one episode after killing Paul and know he is wet all over again. Bet he’s wishing he manned up and killed Emma and Joe now while he has the chance or at least ran away. More on this later! The cops show up at the house and when one of the cops recognizes Emma, she shoots them. Honestly the policing in America can’t be this bad. Back to the nice double date with Joe, Claire and random hostage couple. Claire has decided to fork Joe. A nice shot to the ribs. The three hostages then decide to run off into the woods which you know will never end well, especially in a show like The Following.

Finally this episode is picking up in both camps! The FBI realize Joe’s followers are going after the Evacuation Camp. They arrive just as the chaos ensues. 5 more dead victims and another 9 dead followers. How many are left now! Endless supply of extras in this show.

Emma and Jacob recapture Claire and reunite her with Joe. Joe and Claire then sail off on a nice little boat as the distraction from the evac centre has given them a chance to escape.

Jacob and Emma are to set off to meet another follower but Jacob tells Emma he’s leaving. Your just waiting for her to stab him and you get that moment and a definite death with the slit of the throat. Major character death here and its no surprise seeing as Jacob had the classic character breakdown in this episode. Emma is Joes last crazy follower and she now looks like she will survive to the next series as I can’t see her having a major role in the finale.

So Agent Parker has been captured and is put in a coffin and appears to have been buried alive. Setting up the finale next week where Joe will probably pose a question to Ryan along the lines of who will you save Claire or Agent Parker. That wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest.

All in all another good episode. First half was slow but built up and got better as it went along and builds nicely for the big finale next week. There was no mention of Agent Donovan who I assume is fine and recovering after being stabbed in the eye? I’m surprised Agent Parker was taken and shown putting up a big fight as I always had a sneaky suspicion she was a secret follower. Looks like my season long hunch was wrong. I suppose they couldn’t throw Mike in a hole after all he’s been through this season. I still think there is another mjaor plot twist or character turn in there somewhere. I just can’t see who it’s going to be. Agent Donovan? Stabbed in the eye as a cover up? I don’t think so somehow but these guys are crazy so you never know!

I can’t wait for the finale. This show has been a breath of fresh air. Yes it’s ridiculous and stupid but it’s bloody fun to watch. At this moment in time I have no idea where series two is going but I’m sure this show will end with a bang making you want to watch series two to find out what happened.
